A leading security company is warning businesses, workers, and members of the public in rural areas to be ‘on alert’ over ‘deeply concerning’ crime. Kingdom Security, which helps businesses mitigate the risks of thefts by installing mobile CCTV towers and by deploying security guards or roaming mobile vehicle patrols, says it has seen an increase in businesses worried about the issue.
Of particular concern is the growth in criminal gangs using drones to find expensive machinery or those filming in areas of land where they shouldn’t in an attempt to track down high-value items and make plans to steal them. Managing Director, Iain Macintosh, says the current situation risks putting firms out of business.
“Thieves are looking to cash-in on companies operating in remote areas, due to the lower risk of getting caught,” he says. “The situation is deeply concerning. We are hearing of more and more firms who are worried about the rise in crime, with small plant machinery, fuel, expensive materials, and tools being actively targeted.”
