At Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday, the trio of alleged dog hunters denied each of the three offences against them, all alleged to have been committed on January 22 this year.

They are Darren Prenter (27) from Velsheda Court, Patrick McGourty (28) from Cranbrook Court and Patrick Robert Shannon (51) from Annesley Street, all in Belfast.

They are jointly charged with three offences, including aggravated trespass in Glenwherry Moor, where they are said to have disrupted “habitat management” by engaging in hare coursing and participating in a hare coursing event.
