Police seize vehicles and machines in cross-county cable theft investigation

Stolen vehicles and machines used to strip cables have been seized by police in a cross-county operation.
The goods were recovered by officers in Northamptonshire Thursday, August 25 after working with colleagues on Leicestershire’s Rural Policing Team following reports of cable thefts in both counties. Officers from the British Transport Police Disruption Team also assisted with the search as did teams from BT.
The raid was conducted at an address on the A43 near Broughton in Northamptonshire following the spate of cable thefts.
At the scene, officers confirmed they found a stolen van on cloned number plates as well as a stolen Toyota Hilux pickup truck. Tools used to strip cables, an industrial cable stripping machine and a stolen safe were also found at the property. No arrests have been made in connection with the stolen goods.
