Police investigate as mammal and wild bird shot and killed

WEST YORKSHIRE Police’s Wildlife and Rural Crime Unit has had a busy month so far, after attending a number of incidents where people caused harm to animals.

At the start of the month, an animal was shot in the Manston area of Leeds.

The suspect shot the animal – which officers referred to only as a “wild mammal” – causing it “considerable suffering”.
