Police have issued an appeal after a "substantial number of sheep" were stolen from farmland in Co Derry.

The sheep were taken from land in the Rhee Lane area of Coleraine on Tuesday, November 28. When police officers reviewed the entrance to the land, the rope securing the gate appeared to have been cut.

The gate was then left wide open, enabling the release of the flock. The sheep were last seen on Monday, November 27.
