Police and firemen battle in vain to save Somerset man trapped in tractor accident

A MAN was pronounced dead after emergency services were called to an incident involving a tractor in a “precarious position” in a Somerset village.
Police, fire and ambulance crews rushed to the property in Butcombe on Wednesday night (June 8).
Police and fire crews from Blagdon, Chew, Yatton and Temple all helped free the man from the tractor, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Somerset police are investigating but say there are no suspicious circumstances.
A police spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family during this difficult time.”
