Plucky locals barricaded fly-tippers in while they waited for police for arrive. Residents and workers from the Packington Estate on Maxstone Lane near Meriden blocked the suspects in.
That happened after two vans arrived and tipped out mounds of rubbish onto the side of the road. When North Warwickshire police officers and members of the force's Operational Patrol Unit arrived, they were greeted by what they described as 'some of the worst fly-tipping we had seen in a long time'.
They detained two men at the scene, who who were instructed to reload the two vans with all the rubbish dumped. Once the vans were loaded, they were escorted off the estate.
