Numerous stolen vehicles seized and cars taken off the road in rural crime crackdown

Police have seized a number of stolen vehicles, and dealt with people for numerous driving offences in a two-day crackdown on rural roads.
Officers from the Lancashire rural taskforce teamed up with Merseyside Police to conduct the operation on the county borders.
Over the course of the two days they stopped 107 vehciles, seized two, removed nine from the road, seized a stolen trailer, dealt with drivers who had no insurance, and no licence, arrested one for drugs offences and six for other traffic offences.
A police spokesperson said: "Over the last two days SouthRTF with our friends at SVIU and Merseyside Police have conducted an operation on our county borders.
"We are determined in our efforts to stamp out rural criminality and the movement of stolen goods.
"During this time we have stopped 107 vehicles of interest and seized two vehicles that were stolen including a highly sought after Landrover Defender.
