Hundreds of dead guillemots and razorbills have washed up on the coastline of the Firth of Forth. The discovery of so many seabirds, littering the shores of Scotland’s east coast have caused locals to sound the alarm, and ask whether the cause is bird flu.
One resident at Portobello in Edinburgh, Sarah Morton, reported she saw at least 15 corpses in a short walk of the beach.
Numerous beach users, in both East Lothian and Fife have commented on the dead birds over social media, On the Lothian Birdwatch Facebook group a long thread of comments detailing dead birds, most of which were guillemots and razorbills.
