Lamb dead after apparent dog attack near Beaminster

Dorset

Date of alert:

Wednesday 12 April 2023

Crime Ref:

Force:

55230046943

Dorset Police

A lamb has been put down after a suspected dog attack left it with fatal injuries.

The lamb was reported to RSPCA officers who took it to the vet where it had to be put down.

The animal was recently found in a field in Beaminster with septicemia and in shock.

After close inspection from the RSPCA and the assistance of the vet, it was determined that the lamb had most likely been attacked by a dog.

It is believed the lamb had its ear tag ripped out and was dumped in a random field so it could not be traced back to the farmer.
