The Cumbria Police Rural Crime Team has been dealing with reports of livestock attacks.

A spokesperson said: "Last weekend we received three reports of livestock attacks where sheep sadly died as a result of their injuries.

"These were in the Lakes areas of Patterdale and Coniston. We appeal to both locals and tourists to help prevent this avoidable suffering.

"Livestock worrying is an offence under the Dogs Protection of Livestock Act 1953. Penalties can include a £1,000 fine.
