Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses are reporting that a huge fire at their office and packing site in Longridge is now contained, and that no one was injured.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service remain on site today to manage hotspots in the debris. Local specialist heavy plant equipment is in place to help crews works safely.

The fire ripped through Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses on Monday night with dozens of firefighters battling the inferno.

Pictures and videos from the scene showed flames pouring out of the building on Preston Road in Longridge. Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said they were called to the incident shortly after 9.30pm.

A total of 10 fire engines from Longridge, Preston, Fulwood, Bamber Bridge, Penwortham, Chorley, Hyndburn, Blackburn, and Wesham attended along with two aerial ladder platforms, one stinger appliance, a drone unit, a high-volume pump, and a command unit. Fire bosses said the blaze involved an 80m by 60m commercial building and fire crews used the aerial ladder platforms, three main jets, and a water bowser to extinguish the fire.
